DSM TOP 10 REMIXES OF THE YEAR

I decided to keep this down to a minimum so that I only brought you the cream of the crop. These are all complete bangers and listen to all of them. (Please note, not all are available to download due to copy write and the fact that this post will just get deleted). I refuse to put Day N Nite it at the moment. It should be in there, but hearing Scott Mills play it makes me slightly nauseous.

I would also like to apologize for including three artists twice, although I shouldn't be because these are genuinely my favorite remixes of the year!

1.MGMT - Kids (Soulwax Remix)
The duo worked their magic on the already faultless song and somehow manged to create something which wasn't too different, had all the good bits in and somehow manged to make you dance even more.

MGMT - Kids (Soulwax Remix)

2.Mystery Jets - Half In Love (Foamo Remix)
If you hear a song with half the banger ability of this, you will not stop moving. This song therefore means you go into a banger trance. Hits you like a brick when the bassline first comes in, and that's not even half as good as when it really gets going!

Mystery Jets - Half In Love (Foamo Remix)

3.Little Boots - Stuck On Repeat (Fake Blood Remix)
This song is incredible, almost as though you can't belive how you have been so lucky as to stumble across such a beast. The drop people! The drop! FAKE BLOOD..dudududududuudud...or something like that.

Little Boots - Stuck On Repeat (Fake Blood Remix)

4.The Kills - URA Fever (Jazzsteppa Remix)
The bassline on this is so dirty and sleazy, it does my blog proud, not enough fuss was made about this remix! Sounds incredible in the car!

The Kills - URA Fever (Jazzsteppa Remix)

5.Vampire Weekend - Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa (The Teenagers Remix)
Not so much becuase it's a banger, it's just a perfect example of how a remix can give a song something it was lacking. It made VW not so boring in my eyes.

Vampire Weekend - Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa (The Teenagers Remix)

6.Midfield General - Disco Sirens (Mr Gaspar Remix)
I'm in love with the Disco Sirens! I'll just about forgive Mr Gaspar for remixing Katy Perry terribly, and we'll remember a time when this was the only song to have on in the car if you decided you wanted to pretend to be a bit of a hardman in front of some hideous lager-louts.
7.Sneaky Sound System - Pictures (Tonite Only Remix)
Try and dance to this. Just try. Its impossible because you can't get low enough to the bass so you feel inadequate. This my friends, is a beautiful example of bass bass bass.
8.MGMT - Electric Feel (Justice Remix)
What else did we expect egh? A kind of dull song transformed into the sound of my summer!
9.The Kills - Cheap And Cheerful (Fake Blood Remix)
Cheap And Cheerful is quite a strange song really. It's not really anything, if you know what I mean? You can't really dance to it, you have to nod your head at it's coolness. However, add some anonymous geez who turned out to be from Black Ghosts and you have bassline that hurts your neck, a catchy tune and a BANGER.
10.Vampire Weekend - The Kids Don't Stand A Chance (Chromeo Remix)
I feel like I'm in the 80's with this remix, and it doesn't feel guilty. It not meant to be a nice song, but you can't help but smile and nod along with this remix.

That MGMT/Soulwax remix blows my socks off every time.
Have you heard their Chemical Brothers - Hey Boy Hey Girl remix they did this year as well? Worth a spin too.
Merry Xmas.
