Is it only me that gets excited when I read news like this? Pete Doherty and Carl Barat reunite for Fashion Week? (courtesy of nme.com). I will never stand down at the fact that that pair wrote the greatest song ever written. 'The Good Old Days' is the most spine tingling, emotive, beautiful song I'v ever heard, and it is so frustrating to see them imitated so poorly. No-one will ever compare to them in terms of that scene. If they came back though, what would the reception be like though? The scene has moved on. It's very different to back then. It's all still under the indie umbrella, but their music was a lot different. A guitar band compared to a slickly produced synth loving scenester bands that are popular nowadays. But have The Libs had such an impact on the indie kids of yesteryear that no matter what, there would be hysteria if they mounted a comeback. The NME would do about 15 covers in a row on them. Give the album 10 out of 10 and review every gig they did to promote the album. Pete would be back in the limelight. The papers would start to take an interest in him again, which may not be a good thing

as they are scum, but still it would get people talking and if the album was actually back to the glorydays good, then it could be something amazing. With Dirty Pretty Things failing to rise to the heights of Babyshambles, I think at least one of the two would be game for a reunion in terms of to keep riding the high profile life. I read in the biography of Pete, that Carl was very much the one who wanted the fame and popularity and it was just ironic that Pete dated Ms Moss and took it from under his nose. However, I can't believe that they would want to get back together, judged from what has happened in the past. They might be compatible as songwriters, but as people, there is a clash. Wouldn't it just be incredible to see them live though?

One of my friends actually saw them when they reunited at one of Pete's solo shows a year or two back. He said it was the most amazing moment of his life. I hate him now.
HAHA! I would too! I just couldn't imagine any gig being so special
