Unlucky For The Mainstream

When I used to read NME religiously, and before I realised the blogging world was months ahead and didn't drop artists from the limelight just because they feel like it, it was my source for new music. Black Kids were my best find in that magazine (aside Glasvegas a while back) and when I found out on their myspace you could get their debut EP 'Wizards Of Ahhhs' free, I leaped at the chance. Four cracking songs, and both their singles that they have released to date. When Radio 1 gave them a lot of airplay with 'I'm Not Going To Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You' I felt sorry for the suckers who didn't get Wizard of Ahhs, not only because it was free. But because the single version of 'I'm Not Going To...' is shit. Have a listen for yourself, and tell me which you prefer.

true. their lyrics were a lot better when you couldn't understand what they were saying.

I like this first version better, too. I used to simultaneously love and hate this song at first listen... but it grew on me! So it goes.
